Christmas Tier Tray Supplies

I found my plates, winter vase, and tealight holder at the Dollar Tree.

Holiday Dinner Plate

Holiday Dessert Plate

Small Tealight Candle Holder

8″ Candlestick Holder or Skinny Vase ( found one with snowflakes!)

3-4 Felt Pads

Gold Decorative Balls

Hot Glue

The supplies for this diy tiered tray came from the Dollar Tree. This kept the cost under $10! And this dollar store hack makes a great gift.

Step 1: Clean Your Plates

Since you’re serving food on these trays, you’re going to want to make sure they have a good cleaning before you assemble. Soak them in hot water and soap. Make sure any labels come off too.

A clean dish will help the glue adhere better, and it's easier to get any labels off before they pieces are glued together. Getting dishes with a Christmas print dresses up the tier trays more.

Step 2: Glue the Vase/Candlestick and Plate Together

Take your large plate and set it down face up. Find and mark (lightly) where the center of the plate is. Add a line of hot glue around the inner top of the candlestick/vase then set upside down on the center of the plate. Note: If you want, you can add some decorative pieces like gold glitter balls to the vase. In this case, you will want to keep the vase upright and place the plate face down on top of the glue line on your vase.

The small vase is glued to the center of the large plate. The vase also has a Christmas pattern on it to keep with the theme. You could easily add decorations inside the vase before gluing it to the plate for an extra touch.

Step 3: Attach the Small Plate

Take your small plate and flip it upside down. Find the center of it and mark it lightly. Add hot glue to the base (now the top) of the candlestick/vase that you just glued onto the large plate. Place the small plate face up on top of the candlestick/vase, making sure the line up the center of the plate with the center of the candlestick.

Add a line of glue around the circumference of the vase base. You want to try and keep this glue line discreet and hidden from view as much as possible since your Christmas tiered tray can be viewed from all sides.

Step 4: Add The Tealight Accent Holder

On the top surface of the small plate, find and lightly mark the center of the plate. I added a single gold glitter ball to the inside of the small tealight candle holder for a touch of decor. Add a thin bead of hot glue to the top of the tealight candle holder. Then flip it over and adhere it to the center of the small plate.

Add some sparkle to the top of the tiered tray by tucking a gold glitter ball into the tealight candle holder before gluing it to the top plate.
The small tealight holder is an accent piece on top of the Christmas tier tray.

Step 5: Stick On Felt Pads

Once everything had set, I attached felt pads to the bottom of the large plate for cushioning. You could add little legs to the plate instead.

Step 6: Fill It Up

Fill your new diy holiday tier tray with baked goodies, appetizers or even Christmas decor and display it proudly! It makes a great centerpiece.

Now you can place your goodies on your Christmas tiered tray and set it out for your guests to nibble on. It’s a fun and inexpensive way to add some Christmas cheer to your cookie trays. Or instead of treats, perhaps you want to decorate it with some small winter decor. You could display angels, elves, or snowglobes on it! Mix in a few Hugs and Kisses, glass baubles and faux fur for effect. Have fun with your new tier tray display!
