Moodboard Monday Inspiration Series

May Flowers
The snow has melted, the rain has soaked in, and the breeze is warming up. The grass is turning green and new life is poking up through the dirt. April is transitioning into May, and gray dreary days have brought pops of color through flowers. I think we are all familiar with the old adage: April showers bring May flowers, which is where this moodboard, May Flowers, gets its design inspiration from.
Design Details
There are only a few materials used for the design of the moodboard May Flowers. It is kept quite simple so that the patterns and concept speak for themselves. The flooring, walls, and window coverings are shades of gray, as well as any cabinetry or wood finishes. Where this design will really shine is how the floral patterns are used. Go bold with a floral couch! Or use it for accent chairs while keeping your larger furniture a shade of gray. This print can appear again as toss pillows, drapery, a shower curtain, or bedding.
Any art or accent decor can take inspiration from the fabric and use similar jewel-toned colors. This will add a sense of unity to your home by keeping the colors consistent. But by adding some color, your home will not feel dreary and stark. If you look closely at the colors in the fabric, most of them have cool undertones, which will pair great with the cool-grays in the room. Don’t be afraid to mix and match solid colors, patterns, or textures! This will all bring your room to life.
