Sprinkle Joy
This week’s moodboard Sprinkle Joy brings some attitude. It is not light and airy, but instead moody and intriguing. There is texture, pattern, and depth working in layers for this room. On the top surface are pops of lime green and teal like little sprinkles of joy. But the base layers are neutral for design longevity. But you don’t need to be bland with your neutrals! Mix up textures, prints, and materials to keep it interesting!
Work In Layers
Consider this moodboard a lesson in layers. First, you need a starting off point, your foundation. In order to build a room in layers, you need a solid base to build up from. The foundation for the design of your room should be the most expensive item: which is usually the flooring or furniture. From there you pick out your fabrics and accent colors. The third piece of the puzzle is your choice of paint color. There is an unlimited number of paint colors so you can easily work the paint color around the rest of the materials in a room. Finally, add your accent decor pieces. This is the glam and textures, the interest and intrigue of a room.
