Moodboard Monday: Concrete Creations

Moodboard Mondays

Moodboard Monday Inspiration Series

Moodboard Concrete Creations

Industrial design is so edgy and modern, but that doesn’t mean it can’t work in a traditional home. The moodboard, Concrete Creations shows you how to rock an industrial design without giving up the cozy.

Solid Details

We’re keeping things vibrant with a bold pop of red. Red is a classic colour and keeps coming back around for the spotlight. By using a bright colour in a small quantity, like as a kitchen backsplash, you make it more personal, and take away some of the cold starkness that can come from industrial design. Concrete, dark metals, and neutral tones are key parts of industrial design. It’s great for open concept homes and tall ceilings.

Bring It To Life

This moodboard, Concrete Creations, would be great for a kitchen area. As mentioned above, an open concept room would be ideal. The cabinets are slightly warm to offset the cool tones of the concrete-like counters. Black handles look sharp against the white cabinets. For the countertops, you can get an actual concrete counter made, or you can do a tile or quartz counter that mimics concrete and is a bit stronger. On the floor, we have an spc vinyl tile that looks like a dark concrete. Vinyl tiles are great because they are easy to clean, warmer underfoot, and easier on your joints than tile or concrete if you stand around a lot. This is a fun, bold look for a kitchen space!
